Undergraduate Degree Programme Admissions Requirements

The admission requirements for the undergraduate degree courses at Hano Technical University are:

  1. Completed form of the admission package
  2. Proof of successful completion of Secondary Education
  3. A pass grade of the Hano Technical University Entrance Exam.


If you have attended another university, please also provide the following:

  1. Copies of your academic records (for each academic year), approved by the educational institution and their authorities
  2. A document explaining the grading system of the university/universities you attended
  3. If the documents are in a language other than English, a translated copy must be included with the original documents.

Graduate Degree Programme Admissions Requirements

The following are the prerequisites for admission to the graduate degree programmes:

    1. Completion of an applicable undergraduate degree programme from an accredited institution
    2. A certified copy of your university degree(s) from the relevant authorities and educational institution
    3. A verified copy of your academic transcript from the school and other pertinent authorities
    4. If the original documents are not in English, a certified translation must be submitted with them
    5. A high level of proficiency in English for study and research.

English Language Placement Test & Foundations Programme

After successfully passing the entrance exam and getting permission to attend the university, every student must take a placement test in English to assess their level of competency. The placement of students in the proper level of a foundation programme that emphasises the development of written, oral and grammatical English language abilities follows. As part of the foundation’s curriculum, students will also study mathematics and the fundamentals of information technology.

Documents to be submitted to admissions

  1. A copy of the applicant’s secondary school diploma
  2. Four recent, colour passport pictures
  3. Receipt for a non-refundable application fee of $25.

If you attended another university, please provide​

  1. A copy of the applicant’s university degree(s) certified by the educational institution and relevant authorities
  2. A copy of the applicant’s transcript of academic records (of each academic year), certified by the educational institution and relevant authorities
  3. A document explaining the grading system of the applicant’s university
  4. If the documents are not in English, a certified translation into English is also required
  5. Passing a Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR level B2).

Applications which are incomplete, illegible or reach the admissions office after the deadline will not be processed. Our admissions office is available to help students complete the application form if students come prepared with all the relevant documents. Applicants for both academic admission and scholarship need to consider both the academic admission requirements and the scholarship criteria.
